Le Cellier Steakhouse

The more you visit Walt Disney World, the more "goals" you'll come up with. Right now, you're thinking "goals on vacation?" but trust me, it will happen if you go more than once. One of mine is to eat at all of the restaurants around the world at Epcot. I am about half way there, and so far, one of my very favorites is Le Cellier.

Le Cellier is located in Canada, the first country to your right if you are walking into the World Showcase from Future World. In case you hadn't already guessed, Le Cellier, translated to mean the cellar is themed to look just that way. You walk down a slight ramp, and as soon as you enter, you immediately have the feeling of being underground. There are no windows, wine bottles everywhere, and the air has a crisp feel to it, just as it would in a cellar. It may sound dank and dark, but it truly is a gorgeously themed restaurant.

And the food! Your fabulous Canadian waiter or waitress will start you off with a basket of different breads. Make sure and try a bite of each one! And whether you get it to go with your meal or as an appetizer, don't pass up the cheddar cheese soup. (If you happen to visit during the Food and Wine Festival, you can sample this outside the Canadian pavilion). The "signature dish" here is steak, and it is fantastic as well. But there is a variety of other items to choose from, just in case steak is not your favorite dish. Lunch prices run around $15-$30 for an entree, and dinner, as always is a bit more expensive at $20-$40 per entree.

The lighting and mood set makes Le Cellier a great romantic choice for adults. However, your money might be better spent for younger children. The atmosphere will not be as interesting to them as some other restaurant choices, and I have frequently seen a melt down in this restaurant by younger kids. Overall, if you are looking for one special meal to splurge on, I would definitely recommend Le Cellier.
