Stake your claim early!

You'll hear it and hear it and hear it from Disney visitors. If you want a good seat for the parade, you need to claim it early! And early doesn't mean 15 minutes before the parade. Early means EARLY--as in an hour for a really prime spot. Don't be one of those annoying people who waits until the very last minute to try to find a spot and then blocks someone who has been sitting there waiting for 45 minutes. So rude, and Mickey Mouse would not approve!

There are a ton of great places to sit, but you will start to see people staking their claim well in advance. When we plan our schedule to include a parade, I make sure and block out about an hour and a half. 30 minutes for the parade and an hour for the wait. Which is why we don't watch all that many parades in my family. Because parade time is also an excellent time to get on rides--very little wait!

The photo I've included here is of my husband, sister, and niece--camping out to catch the electric light parade. And that one, I promise you, is well worth the wait!
